Kanye West Disrespects Ms. Swift @ VMAs 2009

What is going on with people?
Last night, watching the VMAs I was so disappointed on people [in general] for allowing Mr. West behavior to happen over and over again.

I never did like the rapper nor am I a great Taylor Swift's fan but what that man did last night goes beyond boundaries.

When I say that we all allowed this to happen is because we love controversy, we devour every gossip there is and we pass it on perpetuating the cycle.
As we let this go on we loose control on what might come up any given moment.

It all starts with little, funny, crazy things but it progresses to a point where a grown up man feels he owns the right to bully a sweet, talented, classy teenager on national television.

MTV is responsible as well for Mr. West's behavior. This is not the first time the artist makes headlines with his appearances [or comments] in the VMAs ...and MTV loves it! The more controversy they get the better they feel, more money they make because... WE ARE THE CONSUMERS OF THAT GARBAGE!!!
Either MTV put a stop on kanYe and ban him for life or some other institution put a stop on MTV (or any other network for that matter) if they keep perpetuating this kind of aggression.

It's time to do something about this kind of stuff. TV is very influential, even if we try to avoid it, there's always a TV around.
We complain about the way kinds behave in these days, but we are sole responsible for that situation.
When something like [kanYe disrespecting Taylor] happen so publicly we're exposing our own kids to behave likewise.

kanYe not only was rude to Taylor Swift (showing that whatever efforts his family made to help him become a kind, decent man was worthless) but he also embarrassed Beyoncè as well.
He took her name as an excuse to expose how uneducated he was. What a shame!
And then he's under the impression that, after what he did, he just have to throw an apology and the world is good again.
Why not use that brain and think ahead before jumping on a stage and do such a shameful stunt? That's what separate kinds from men...maturity and responsibility.

I have to mention Beyoncè's spectacular class act at the end of the night. She showed why she's such a great star and WHY SHE DESERVES IT.
And Taylor behaved with grace and dignity. You keep doing your thing, girl! Forget about the bullies like kanYe, poor little thing seems to know no better than that.

Ellen DeGeneres and American Idol...

Well:

First I think that AI broke the magic by letting Paula go. If they're willing to pay Mrs. DeGeneres they might as well had try to work things out with Abdul.

Ellen is not going to work for bananas and coconuts, so it means that Fox could've had negociate with Paula.

Mistake! If it ain't broken don't fix it.

After last season I had decided that I wasn't going to watch AI anymore. I did not feel the outcome was fair and that the true idol was Mr. Lambert. The fact that, because of him being gay, cost him the title made me throw up. The "winner" (I can't even remember his name) is so dull that he clearly wasn't the "american idol"; Then news broke that Paula was out...

But I love Ellen and when they announced her as a fourth judge that made reconsider my watching AI again.

Maybe someone from the musical industry could've been a better choice, but even as Paula is a singer she was kind of a freak show so Ellen can do her part in that level too.

Besides Ellen is coming as the "people's voice". As someone who would buy the CD instead of producing one. That's going to be a very interesting take on the competition.

She's kind as well and her comments will be hilarious...

And I can't wait to see what will happen between her and Simon.

It would be wiser if we just wait and see how it goes and how she does it.

Overall, since Paula is no longer there, Ellen seems to be a good choice.

Fabulous Leslie...

We bought Leslie a jean jacket last week. She put it on last saturday for the first time and she loved it.

Yesterday (monday) she wore the jacket to school, wich was a bad idea because of the weather. She loves to have her hair loose (that I had style sunday night) so the rain was not good for her looks. That's why today (tuesday), due to the same kind of weather, I went to look for a coat that had a hood just so she could use it to cover her hair. She noticed my choice and said:

-"No, mummy, I want to wear 'the popular'!"

I took the hint and knew what "the popular" was, so I told her:

-"I know, but today is not a good day to wear it. Look outside, it's raining and you need to cover your hair"- Using my most convincing tone.

She went on: -"No! I want 'the popular'!"

Then Alex stepped in and asked her: -"Why do you and to wear 'the popular'?"

To what she said (looking at him as if it was just far to obvious): -"Because... I want to be fabulous!"

Leslie is 4½ yrs. old.

My Twitter Point Of View...

I'm new to Twitter.
I found out about it nearly three weeks ago. I was watching Guiliana Rancic (E!News @7:00pm /ET) interviewing Julia Roberts [because of her promoting "Duplicity"] and Guils (that's how I call her: 'Guils') told Julia about Twitter...Hhhhmmm! That slided by my side.
Then, the very next day, I saw Ellen (as in DeGeneres) that spoke on her show about 'tweets' and Puff-P-Puffy Diddy-Daddy ,who is like The Mayor of TweetLand...so, of course, me (being an Internet jerk and I fall for all this kind of cyber-junk...I'm pretty sure I have accounts in every single WebOutlet there is) started my research about "Twitter". It wasn't easy because I misspelled the damn name...but I figured it out.

When I got to the main page and (obviously) signed on for my brand new account I was very excited (still am) with my new toy.
It took me a little time to find out how it works, 'till date I'm still struggling with many things.
But the fact that you can get instant connection with a whole variety of people out there is amazing.
I started 'following' celebrities ( Is there any other reason why to get a Twitter account?). And reading their tweets and stuff.
Suddenly!...I started getting people following ME! Why would anybody follow a 'no one'? I'm telling you, I did not get it!
I did find a funny fascination on how tweetterers tweet about tweetting tweets.

So, of course, I began to follow "the others" (meaning the non-celebrity-ones).
I was very pleased when I found out that, out of nowhere, I had 36...36! followers ( yes,"you" that have like 13'567 followers, can laugh all what you want!) but for me that was a big deal. By the time I got to 70 I was in TweetHeaven. As I'm writing [now] I have 68 ( meaning that 2 stopped 'the follow' when they didn't find what they were looking for).
I also have 4 personal messages, that I haven't been able to reply because ...I don't know how to. I like to reply, that's how polite I am, I like people to know that I appreciate the time they take to write or tweet me...

I tweeted all kinds of things. Anything that I believed was worth throwing out there. And I re-tweeted what I thought was good to do.
I didn't want to look like a "freak" when I found out that I was following 98 people...98!...Who ARE all these people?! I don't know them!
You see, to me, the way Twitter works is better if you follow people that you actually know, like a cousin or a sister or your boyfriend... ... or ex boyfriend (whatever, you can do whatever you want , is none of my bussiness!). But to find out what a buch of people you do not know are doing is kind of...weird.

Still, I'm still stucked with this Twitter thing so I did the next best thing you can do... I started researching reviews and articles and stuff on the Web. That's how I got to a section [in YouTube] dedicated entirely to "How To Gain Massive Followers On Twitter"...What in-the-name-of-Barack-Obama are you saying!!! MASSIVE Followers? So I felt like an idiot watching my miserable 68 follows. I came to realize that many of the people that I interact with (somehow) have thousands of followers and that got me conflicted. I stand by my point of checking on the people you do know, but also I like to know what celebs are doing and I also want to have a legion of followers...
I began to follow a little bit more and now I'm proud to say that I follow 117 tweetterers ( Is that a word?).

Is hard to keep up with this Tweet thing. Even as I have a lot of free time, and I use my computer constantly, I don't want to get attached to a single domain telling everyone every single thing that comes to mind.
And also, you have to keep others interested in what you send out. You don't want to be boring or 'look' creepy. You want to say things that everyone like...but you have to be true to yourself.
So I checked this vid, from one of the TweetNation citizens...when it was done I was so overwhelmed! It's like going to College! It could likely take away all the fun from it. OMG! All that percentage! I want to tweet, not become a scientist! Well, I guess it's OK, you'd come to terms with it.

But what really intrigues me is the fact that, no matter how many times I send a tweet out to the world I never, EVER get a reply back. Even if I tweet the link to my posts publications [here in Blogger] I never get any feedback.
So I saterted thinking: Mmmmmm! Is it really worth it? I dedicate some time (now and then) to this activity but I'm not sure anyone is paying attention...So why keep doing it... what's the point?
To date I haven't got the answers to those questions,but I get some e-Mail notices letting me know every time I get a new follower (some drop out and I gain some others) meaning that I'll keep tweeting my way out, even if I end up having only a handfull of followers.

I enjoy this darn thing!

Feedom of Speech...

Lately I've been analyzing what is exactly the meaning of that phrase "Freedoom of Speech".

I know it's written in the Constitution, I know we have the right to say what we want without fear or restraint...but lately the whole concept has me confused.

I think that you should say anything that you want as long you don't disrespect or offend others; even so you still have the right to say anything you feel like... that's the whole point!

Whether your words offends others is a morality rather than "legal" or "righfulness" matter.

So here's my point:

It seems that for anything that you say nowdays there's always someone or some Institution or some group or some whatever that is going to be offended. Not only will they feel offended but they will demand an appology for you saying what you have the constitunional right to say.

Morality is a tricky issue when it comes to freedom of speech.

Everything is been taken out of contest and blown out of proportion.

Beware if you dare to say a joke about white donkeys! Out of nowhere some groups defending the albinos ( no disrespect intended) will take a connotation and expect you to apologize to the albinos for the white donkey's jokes that "clearly" was intended to be offensive towards them...

UH?

To my humble point of view there is no freedom of speech when you have to check every single line of what you are going to say in public. And there is no freedom of speech when, suddenly, a simple joke is blown up and you find yourself taking the heat for it.

I think we all need to lighten up a little and make an effort to be less critical about simple things.

The easiest way to deal with that kind of situations is, first of all, check the attitude and intentions of how the words were said and take if from there.

We all need to laugh at ourselves a bit more.

Now, may I ask:

Do you REALLY think that "Mr. Man's" intentions on Leno ( thursday 19 ) was to make fun of the Special Olympics or it was just to make a joke of himself being so bad at bowling?

Chill, relax it's just a joke!

We are not longer able to say " ...the black man that lives across the street painted his house bright yellow..." Inmediately the attention will go to "the black man" quote and we'll forget about the fact that he painted his house in a bright color... or even to say " ...Oh! That's so gay..." could make you regret you ever got a tongue in your mouth.

I don't know ( I might be wrong on it) but all this rights to everything and every advocate of every single issue has made society way too much sensible.

So what's the point of the First Amendment then?

I feel that the so called "Freedom of Speech" is only in paper and reality is far from that.

Living in 2009...

I recieved this through an e-Mail. I found it funny and true, so I decided to share it.

ABBA, My Daugther and Me...

I've always loved ABBA. Everytime I hear their music I get nostalgic of a time a didn't get to live, I was too young by the time the group was a sensation...

But, still, music is a legacy and nothing proves that more than the fact that my little daugther, who is only 4½ yrs., after watching "Mamma Mia!" (the movie) can't stop singing "Dancing Queen", "I Have A Dream", "Lay All Your Love On Me" or "Mamma Mia!"

But the song that hits me the most is "Slipping Through My Fingers".

I see this little girl, the funnier girl I've ever seen, growing up so fast that every single second is a treasure to me..especially when she says that she wants to be "17" just so she can be "the dancing queen".
